Culture and Value

A firm organised around delivered outcomes rather than utilisation targets — and the practical commitments that follow from that.

Culture and Value

A firm designed around the work, not around utilisation targets.

Most consultancies are organised to maximise billable hours. That structure quietly rewards long engagements and generalist staffing — neither of which serves the client.

We built SynergyApex differently. Consultants are measured on delivered outcomes and client retention rather than hours logged. Nobody is penalised for finishing early, and nobody is rewarded for extending a programme that should have closed.

  • No individual utilisation targets
  • Named delivery teams written into every statement of work
  • Twelve funded learning days per consultant per year
  • Sabbatical eligibility after four years

Our Values

Six values, stated plainly.

These are the ones we actually use in performance conversations.

Say the difficult thing early

A programme risk raised in week three is a conversation. The same risk raised in week twenty is a crisis. We are paid to be uncomfortable early.

Independence over revenue

If the honest recommendation is a smaller engagement — or none at all — that is the recommendation. We have lost pitches this way and kept clients for a decade.

Credit is specific

Recognition names the individual and the contribution. Vague team-wide praise is how good work becomes invisible.

Teach as you deliver

Every consultant is expected to leave the client team more capable than they found it. Knowledge hoarding is a performance issue, not a job-security strategy.

Own the outcome, not the ticket

Nobody at SynergyApex says the problem sits outside their scope. If it threatens the outcome, it is in scope until it is resolved or explicitly reassigned.

Disagree in the room

Dissent belongs in the meeting, not in the corridor afterwards. Once a decision is made, we commit to it publicly, including the parts we argued against.

How We Work Together

The practical expressions of the above.

01

Named teams, written into the contract

The statement of work lists the individuals who will deliver, their allocation and their experience. Substitutions require client agreement in writing.

02

Fortnightly outcome reviews, not status updates

Progress is reported against the committed business outcome. Percentage-complete on a task list is not a measure of anything useful.

03

Client-side capability plans

Every engagement includes a named development plan for the client roles that will own the platform afterwards, with milestones we are accountable for.

04

Structured post-engagement review

Ninety days after close we return, unpaid, to review what worked and what did not. The findings go into our method, and we share them with the client.
